FOCUS on Health Care
An overview of the FOCUS on Healthcare website, one of the only sites available in Alberta to publicly report system-level data across the provincial healthcare system. The site hosted by Health Quality Council of Alberta reports hundreds of thousands of data points including information on wait times, delivery of care and patient experience.
Learning objectives:
1. Learn about how different sectors of the healthcare system are identified and displayed on the FOCUS website.
2. Learn what data mining opportunities are possible for healthcare leaders and QI professionals; and how content was developed to help decision makers.
3. Learn about how data is organized and updated on FOCUS and the tools that are used (project management related).
4. Learn about the process to identify and select measures -- and how the HQCA engages with key decisionmakers inside healthcare as well as patients and families.
