HIMSS Foundation Announces CAHIMS Grants for Diverse Health IT Students and Professionals

In celebration of Global Health Equity Week, taking place Oct. 19-23, 2020, the HIMSS Foundation is pleased to announce a new grant program focused on building and equipping an inclusive workforce in healthcare information and technology.

The Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS) Grant Program will cover the cost of registration, review courses along with study materials and all applicable testing fees. Applications for the grant program will open in January 2021.

The CAHIMS credential helps professionals advance their careers by demonstrating knowledge in healthcare information and management systems to potential and current employers.

These grants are intended to assist diverse students and professionals in receiving a solid foundation to increase their knowledge and strengthen their abilities in order to advance career opportunities and build a more inclusive workforce, which will reduce barriers to healthcare access and improve health outcomes for everyone, everywhere.

As the philanthropic arm of HIMSS, the HIMSS Foundation promotes health information and technology education and issue awareness on global and national levels. Support the HIMSS Foundation’s efforts to raise $100,000 to equip more than 300 diverse professionals and students for careers in Healthcare Information and Technology.
