Philip Bradley is Regional Director of the Americas, Healthcare Advisory Services Group at HIMSS.
I have had the pleasure to work with HIMSS for a little more than four years, but I have been a part of the HIMSS family for decades as a member and as a board member of the local Houston chapter.
My responsibilities are the Maturity Models throughout the Americas. Along with an amazing team, we help health organizations and the Certified Organizations better understand the Maturity Model roadmaps to maximize adoption and reform their health ecosystem.
One of the requirements of Stage 7 is the use of data in the form of three case studies describing how the use of data improves health, operations and financial performance. The organization must show a minimum of 12 months of data in each case study and how data was used to drive decisions. Examples include improving a readmission rate, reducing hospital acquired infections or improving the health of pediatric asthma patients.
I wish everyone at HIMSS could experience the excitement of a health organization during a validation. The process is the final step in what has been years of effort to achieve Stage 7. They are so proud of their accomplishments and eager to share. I often find organizations want to share accomplishments that aren’t even a part of the validation requirements. I’m more than happy to tour the additional areas.
At HIMSS, our vision is to realize the full health potential of every human, everywhere. Be part of the community that’s transforming the global health ecosystem with courage, curiosity and determination.
