Meet the Changemakers: Yvonne Patrick

HIMSS serves the global health information and technology communities with focused operations across North America, Europe, the United Kingdom, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. Our members include more than 80,000 individuals, 480 provider organizations, 470 non-profit partners and 650 health services organizations. The HIMSS staff is made up of changemakers who collaborate with members to reform the global health ecosystem through the power of information and technology.

Yvonne Patrick is Associate Manager of Clinical Informatics at HIMSS.

How long have you been at HIMSS?

I label myself as a “return employee” having previously worked at HIMSS in another department. My total time stands at 12 years.

How do you support our mission statement?

In my role within the Informatics department at HIMSS, I work closely with physician industry leaders who share their knowledge and expertise to help us further enhance the development of resources and deliverables for the Physician Community. I also help support clinical initiatives for Pharmacy Informatics and the Health Technology Alliance (HTA).

How do you know your work at HIMSS makes a difference?

During the course of planning meetings with our volunteers for virtual events or education sessions at Global Conference, it’s always exciting to see how the start of a conversation and collective team effort transforms into a valuable resource that proves rewarding for the attendees as well as the speakers. Our members are gracious in their feedback, continued support and personal thank yous!

What’s one thing you wish everyone knew about the work you do at HIMSS?

That it’s an honor and pleasure to continuously meet and work with dedicated physicians and health information and technology professionals who work full-time in their respective careers, yet take the time to contribute to the HIMSS vision because they care. It is a truly rewarding experience.
