Health equity is critical to the goal that every person can live a healthy life and reach their full potential, regardless of their background or circumstance. If individuals reach their full potential, communities can excel, leading to healthier nations and a healthier world. Achieving health equity has a far-reaching and long-term impact, generating stronger economies locally and globally. It positions nations to meet growth and face challenges by supporting their ability to transform to accommodate future needs.
I approach life with the mindset of health equity for all and look for opportunities to close gaps and mitigate health and wellness barriers.
I am optimistic and hopeful about the establishment of national and global goals for health equity. There is greater awareness that every individual may have unique needs and that people come from different circumstances that require tailored strategies for health equity.
“I may not be there yet, but I’m closer than I was yesterday.”
At HIMSS, our vision is to realize the full health potential of every human, everywhere. Be part of the community that’s transforming the global health ecosystem with courage, curiosity and determination.
